Project-Based Learning (PBL) session, you’ll undertake the task of designing a CubeSat specifically tailored for coral reef observation in the Red Sea. The primary objective of this PBL is to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to design and present a comprehensive CubeSat mission plan, focusing on coral reef observation and monitoring in the Red Sea region.
To prepare for this PBL activity, students will engage in several key tasks:
Build the CubeSat Presentation: Students will develop a detailed presentation outlining their problem statement and the objectives of their CubeSat mission. This presentation will serve as a foundational document for their mission planning process, providing a clear overview of the goals and scope of the project.
Overall Mission Poster: Students will create an overall mission poster that encapsulates the entire lifecycle of their CubeSat mission, from launch to decommissioning. This poster will visually communicate key aspects of the mission, including the mission objectives, payload specifications, and deployment timeline.
PowerPoint Presentation on PBL: In addition to the CubeSat presentation, students will prepare a PowerPoint presentation specifically focused on the Project-Based Learning (PBL) process itself. This presentation will highlight the methodologies, challenges, and outcomes associated with the PBL approach, providing insights into the students’ learning journey throughout the project.
Completed Mission Handbook: Finally, students will compile all relevant information and documentation into a comprehensive Mission Handbook. This handbook will serve as a reference guide for the CubeSat mission, containing detailed information on mission objectives, payload specifications, operational procedures, and data analysis protocols.
Through these preparatory tasks, students will gain a deeper understanding of CubeSat design principles, mission planning processes, and project management methodologies. By actively engaging in the PBL process, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills essential for success in the field of aerospace engineering and space exploration.
